Today’s sermon title:
FAITH FOR YOUR SILENT NIGHT
On that silent night, I don’t believe that Mary was the only one that treasured up all these things. I don’t believe that Mary was the only one that treasured up this Holy moment. Heaven and all the angels joined her. As Mary pondered, one can only imagine what all creation and the heavenly host pondered as well.
As the shepherds arrived on that silent night, did the angels give out a sigh of relief? On that silent night, did all of creation exhale? Because if you read it too fast, without giving it any thought, you’ll miss the beauty in this story. Luke 2:16 says,
“And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:16 ESV
This verse rolls off the tongue so smooth, it all sounds so easy, almost like a fairy tale ending, but this story is no fairy tale. This story is real life, and there was NOTHING easy about this story. “And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.” Do you understand everything that transpired leading up to this moment? As the angels looked on at Jesus the Son of God lying in a manger, they let out a sigh of relief because only heaven knows what it took to get to this moment.
It went from creation knowing perfection, to creation knowing chaos. But on that silent night it went back to Holy Ground.
Because only they know all that it took to get this moment.
